Say no to KESC

The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) recently announced a 70 per cent increase in billing charges. This has come as a shock to most people. Consumers are worried about how they are going to pay these bills. Questions like "will the KESC cut our electricity supply?" are coming to minds of regular bill payers. The public has nothing to do with the stoppage of subsidies by the government. Why are the innocent masses being punished?

Why is the KESC management unable to put an end to the `kunda` system in Karachi? Is it because KESC employees themselves are involved? Or is it because the management is not efficient enough? I think it is about time that the people of Karachi take a step. The citizens should boycott the payment of these increased bills and pass the KESC authorities a message of intolerance of justice.
